WRAP-UP NEXT JOURNEY #1

In 2013, Luke discovered Wrap-Up Next, a Japanese RC brand specialising in rear-wheel-drive chassis conversions for the renowned Yokomo “Doripake” Drift Package. He managed to source and purchase a Red FR-D V1 conversion kit and, with the help of various people and online resources, pieced together the standard Yokomo parts.

Not long after, Adam picked up a Blue FR-D V1, and together we embarked on our journey into RWD RC drifting at the legendary SoulRC in Northamptonshire.

Years of experimenting and upgrading followed, with us swapping out parts on the Wrap-Up Next chassis. We’ve owned almost every FR-D version—except a few: the MR-D, the Nervis, and the Travis V1.

Fast forward to 2016: we took our first trip to Japan, and a huge thank you goes out to Mizunaga-san of Team-Tetsujin for showing us around Nagoya—the home of Tetsujin, RC Iroha, and, of course, Wrap-Up Next!

During this unforgettable visit, we had the opportunity to meet many of the local enthusiasts at RC Iroha, as well as the amazing Imaizumi-san and Ema-san from Wrap-Up Next. It was truly the best experience of our RC journey, and the memories continue to inspire us today.
