FR-D7: CORE KIT VS. PLUS KIT EXPLAINED

The Wrap-Up Next FR-D7 chassis is available in two distinct options: the Core Kit and the Plus Kit. This post will break down exactly what you get in each one.

FR-D7 Plus Kit

The Plus Kit takes the Core Kit and adds a range of premium, colour-matched WRAP-UP NEXT parts. It includes all the components of the Core Kit, plus the following extra parts:

• FSG2 Aluminium Freestyle Geometry Suspension Set

• 46.4-49.6mm Dual Face Suspension Mount C (x2)

• 60.8-64mm Dual Face Suspension Mount E (x2)

• SG Shock 3 for WRAP-UP & Air Valve Adjustable Shock Top (x4)

• Adjust Range Servo Horn 18-25mm Type F (for Futaba/ReveD)

This is an excellent starting point for your FR-D7 drifting journey. The kit is designed for a quicker and simpler build, providing some of the very high-quality and high-performance tuning parts that WRAP-UP has to offer. Essentially, it needs fewer components to get you set up and sliding. Please see below for what is not included.

Colour Availability: The Plus Kit is exclusive to the limited edition colours: Blue (Special Edition) and Orange (Zerofeel Edition).

Option Parts

The FR-D7 is expected to have additional optional parts released in the future. At launch, you can also preorder the Fan Mounting plate, available here.

Important Notes/What's not included:

Please be aware that the Plus Kit does not include the 'Reversa Front Steering Knuckles' that are visible in some promotional images—these are for demonstration purposes only. While you can use them, it is recommended to use the Reve D Plastic Knuckle or US Knuckle for the best results, until WRAP-UP NEXT releases a future revised knuckle.

Both kits also do not include all bearings, spacers, turnbuckles, ball studs, ball ends, or springs required to complete the build. Please see the product listings for further details.

To complete a running chassis, both the Core Kit and the Plus Kit require extra components. Our next post will feature the recommended parts list necessary to finalise your build.

FR-D7 Core Kit

The Core Kit has the essentials you need for the FR-D7, similar to the Travis 2 Plus model but with additions. This kit includes the fundamental chassis components:

• Split-type 2.5T carbon chassis

• 2.0T carbon upper deck

• Aluminum joint base

• 4-gear drive unit

• Aluminum bulkhead integrating lower & upper arms and shock tower

• Front/rear split closed-type aluminum gear case

• Aluminum steering wiper & crank

• ESC plate

• Adjustable-length center shaft

• Lightweight ball differential

• Dual composite shock tower V4

• Ball bearings (steering wiper, inside gear case)

• Adjustable carbon battery holder for short LiPo

• 3×50mm suspension shafts

• Servo mount posts

The kit provides the freedom to integrate components from other brands, enabling you to construct a chassis perfectly tailored to your specific needs and aesthetic preferences. Please see below for what is not included.
